Ride Norfolk, which has been operating on a regular schedule but not charging fares since March 23rd, will resume fare collection on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020. Fares can be paid with exact cash on the bus and tickets can be purchased at any Norfolk County Public Library branch.

For the safety of both driver and riders, masks are required while on-board the vehicle. Riders are encouraged to use their own face covering, however, the buses are equipped with a limited number of face masks, disposable gloves and both disinfectant spray and wipes.

“We’ve seen an increase in ridership while more businesses and services start to reopen,” said Blaire Sylvester, Norfolk County’s Public Transportation and Business Development coordinator. “We are ensuring all reasonable steps are being taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  However, maintaining a safe physical distance may not always be possible while on-board. We recommend all passengers wear face coverings while using public transit for the health and safety of fellow riders and the drivers.”

Vehicles will continue to be cleaned and high touch areas, such as railings and handles, are disinfected throughout the day. Riders are encouraged to practice social distancing and only travel when necessary.

Maximum capacity will increase from five to eight during Stage 3 of reopening.

Monthly passes which can be used for unlimited travel within Norfolk County are now available for purchase at $60 each at any branch of the Norfolk County Public Library. The passes are NOT valid for the Brantford Service.
