Norfolk County’s Spring and Summer Recreation Program Guide is now available online to help residents plan and prepare for registration. 

Registration for County spring and summer recreation programs, including spring swimming lessons, opens at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28. Registration for summer swimming lessons will open at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Residents can view the Spring and Summer Recreation Program Guide at norfolkcounty.ca/RecGuide. 

Approximately 65 registered or drop-in programs and classes with close to 6,000 spaces will be offered, including swimming, fitness and wellness, general interest, pickleball, and youth leadership. Summer camps are offered in Simcoe and Delhi. Outdoor adventure camp is offered at Waterford North Conservation Area, and new this year, at Backus Heritage Conservation Area. Specialty camps include golf, cheerleading, basketball, and kayaking.  

Norfolk County offers educational, recreational, and social programs for seniors 50+ in-person at the Delhi Friendship Centre at 418 Queen St, as well as online and on the phone through the Seniors Centre Without Walls program. The centre offers a variety of weekly activities for seniors, from line dancing and cards, to baking and shuffleboard.  

The Simcoe Recreation Centre offers indoor Pickleball and walking programs for all ages, TRX fitness, children’s programs, and more. It is also home to the Simcoe Seniors’ Centre where members can participate in more than 40 weekly programs.  

Norfolk County has partnered with organizations that can assist families who are experiencing financial shortfalls. Funding programs are available for children ages four to 18 years. Check out the Recreation Guide for details or call 519-426-5870 or 226-NORFOLK ext.8168 for more information. 

The quickest and easiest way to register for recreation programs is online at norfolkcounty.ca/Encore. Registration by phone will also be available at 519-426-5870 or 226-NORFOLK ext. 2233 during business hours, and in-person at the Simcoe Recreation Centre located at 182 South Drive on:    

  • Monday to Friday 7:30 m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays 9:30 m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Sundays 8:30 m. to 2:30 p.m.

 Norfolk County’s recreation programs are popular, and residents are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.
