Norfolk County’s recreation department is excited to offer a full slate of programming to residents this summer.

Registration for programs such as swimming lessons, summer camp, and leadership courses will officially open May 3 at noon.

Family

Reduce stress, improve your mood, meet new people and enjoy the natural beauty of Norfolk County every Thursday with the Discover Norfolk Walking Group. Family swims and public skating are always a hit and try out our NEW Family Sticks and Pucks skates. Looking for something a little more competitive? Try Pickleball at DDSS – played on a badminton court with a paddle and whiffle ball, this growing sport makes for a great night out.

Child and Youth

So many options so little time. PA day, weekly summer camps, and specialty camps like junior golf, hockey, cheerleading, and even firefighting are available. Interested in outdoor adventures, home alone safety, or babysitting courses? We’ve got those too, along with tons of swimming lessons and advanced leadership courses taking place in both Simcoe and Delhi. It’s a great time to obtain lifeguard and instructor certifications as Norfolk County will be actively recruiting for fall aquatics staff.

Senior

Age is just a number in Norfolk County. Over 50 and looking for something to do? Swimming, cards, dancing, pool, movies, walking – it’s all here. Both the Delhi Friendship Centre and Simcoe Senior’s Centre are always looking for newcomers, and membership fees give plenty of bang for your buck.

Rentals

Norfolk County offers a variety of rentals; from buildings to equipment, even Pickleball Courts. Whether you’re looking for spring/summer ice, a pavilion or community hall to host a birthday party or baby shower, a ball hockey court or outdoor pool – or simply wish to use county equipment, we’ve got you covered.

Rec at Home

Enjoy recreation but would rather do so within the comforts of your own home? Great news, the Rec in a Box and virtual programming created during the Covid-19 pandemic will continue. Sensory boxes and even special Father’s and Mother’s Day virtual event boxes can be purchased, and spaces are open for several online programs.

All County programs, camps, and lessons can be found in the pages of the 2022 Summer Recreation Program Guide digital flip book. Residents can register online using ENCORE or call 519-426-5870 or 226-NORFOLK Ext. 2233.
