Warm temperatures have changed the quality of raw water being drawn from Lake Erie, causing tap water in the Port Rowan area to become discoloured.

The discolouration has no impact on water quality and the water remains safe to drink.

The water’s appearance should return to normal after Norfolk County flushes the distribution system in the town of Port Rowan.

If a resident is experiencing coloured water it may be helpful to run a cold water tap until clear.

All drinking water in Norfolk is continually tested, monitored, and analyzed to ensure it meets strict standards set by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Parks.
