January 11, 2022 – Following a difficult year for many charities, Norfolk County employees are pleased to have donated over $30,000 to local causes.

Each staff member is given the choice to chip in a portion of their pay to Dress Down Days. Employees are then able to wear business-casual clothing every Friday, and suggest which charities the Norfolk County Employee Social Club should donate the funding to each month.

The 2021 funding breaks down as follows:

  • Haldimand and Norfolk Women’s Services, $2090
  • Community Access Living, $2140
  • Camp Trillium – Rainbow Lake, $2168
  • Cancer Support and Resource Program, $2140
  • Simcoe and District Humane Society, $2194
  • Norfolk County KidSport, $3466
  • Community Addiction and Mental Health Services, $2385
  • Child Nutrition Network of Haldimand-Norfolk, $2350
  • Mission Food, $2375
  • Riversyde 83, $2408
  • Delhi Sharing Pantry, $2502
  • Salvation Army Haldimand-Norfolk, $3864

“We’re so glad to be able to give back to our community,” said Carissa Kapitor, Norfolk County Staff Development Coordinator. “A lot of our neighbours and users may very well require the services of these great organizations, who do so much good in our region.”
