February 20, 2020, Simcoe, ON – The process of bidding on Norfolk County business is about to get much easier.

As of March 2020, the corporation will adopt a digital procurement system that is free of cost to vendors.

bids&tenders is an online system used by a number of Ontario municipalities that makes it easy to review and register bids anytime and from anywhere.

The system will ensure potential suppliers are aware of important bid details and deadlines, and will help the County reduce paper usage and communicate clearly with the business community.

“We want to make it as easy as possible to do business with Norfolk County, and tools like this help us do just that,” says Shelley Darlington, Norfolk’s Director of Corporate Support Services. “By modernizing our processes in this way, we maximize the use of taxpayer dollars and ensure vendors have a positive experience working with us.”

Bid documents posted before March 2 will continue to be posted on Norfolk County’s website. Those posted on or after March 2 will be posted to bids&tenders, but the submission of bids will continue to be in person via hard copy or by mail/courier.

The electronic submission of bids will be rolled out later this year.
