Norfolk County has finalized its plans for a range of recreational services this summer, including opening splash pads, offering summer ice in Waterford and providing diverse recreational and cultural programming. 

Below is an overview of County services to be offered this summer, and those being delayed until the fall. 

Specific updates to the community will follow. 

Splash pads in Delhi and Simcoe will open, with a maximum capacity of 10 people at any given time. The unsupervised facilities will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days per week, and equipment will be regularly disinfected. Public washrooms will not be available.

Summer ice will be available at Waterford Tricenturena, with a minimum of 25 hours of ice time needed to be pre-booked to open the rink. Provincial public health guidelines will be strictly followed. 

Virtual recreational and cultural programming will be offered by Parks and Recreation, Heritage and Culture and the Norfolk County Public Library. 

In-person golf and racquet sports camps for youth will be offered in August. 

Baseball diamonds will open for residents, with no bookings available except to minor baseball associations for training and development sessions. Washrooms and dugouts will not be available. Provincial public health guidelines will be strictly followed. Residents can continue to utilize fields for personal enjoyment, and minimum maintenance from staff will continue.

The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre will undergo repairs this summer, and staff will engage user groups and report back to Council in mid August with an update on a potential opening date. 

The Delhi Kinsmen Pool will be closed for the season. 

The following facilities will be closed until at least October 1: All County-operated museums, the Adult Community Centre, the Delhi Friendship Centre, all community halls (except for unique circumstances). 

All County pavilions will also remain closed. 

Norfolk County opened its municipal marinas on May 15, and its skate parks, dog parks and tennis courts on May 21.
