Norfolk County staff donated $34,170 to charity in 2022.

Thanks to “Dress Down Days” (also known as ‘3D Fridays’), employees have the option to contribute $2 to dress casually on Fridays, and show their support for a variety of local charities.

“We’re always looking for ways to give back to the community, and Dress Down Days are a great way to do so,” says Erin Anderson, Norfolk’s Director of Human Resources. “We’re all proud to support local charities who do so many great things for the people of Norfolk County.”

The charities that received donations in 2022 were:

  • Haldimand Norfolk Women’s Services
  • Norfolk Association for Community Living
  • Cancer Support and Resource Program
  • Campfire Circle (formerly Camp Trillium)
  • Simcoe Caring Cupboard Food Bank
  • Kidsport Norfolk County
  • Community Addiction and Mental Health Services
  • Child Nutrition Network of Haldimand-Norfolk
  • Lynn Valley Trail Association
  • Saint Vincent de Paul St. Mary’s
  • Purrfect Companions of Norfolk
  • Salvation Army Haldimand-Norfolk

Contributions from each month are combined and donated in one lump sum. A different registered local charity receives the money collected each month. The Norfolk County Employee Social Committee receives charity recommendations from staff – and the committee votes each year on which ones will receive support.
