On Tuesday, June 8, Mayor Kristal Chopp, Councillors Amy Martin and Ryan Taylor – along with resident Ryder Mandryk – gathered outside the County Administration Building to raise the Pride flag.
Prior to raising the Pride flag, all flags had been lowered beginning May 21 until June 7, for a total of 215 hours, to honour the 215 Indigenous children found buried at a former residential school near Kamloops BC.
