April 12, 2020, Simcoe, ON – Norfolk County is urging those who can to leave lakeshore communities ahead of significant flooding expected to begin midday Monday.

Those in need of support finding shelter, or experiencing mental health crisis, can call Victim Services at 1-800-264-6671.

Those who can’t leave these areas are advised to shelter in place if flooding begins and to avoid walking or driving through flooded streets.

Some streets will be closed before flooding creates dangerous situations. High winds may also damage trees and/or power lines.

Emergency service response times could be delayed if area roads become impassable.
