Norfolk County is pleased to announce the launch of its new Respect and Responsibility Policy which aims to foster a more inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all employees and community members.
The policy applies to interactions among County staff and members of the public at all County properties, spaces, and worksites, including offices, facilities, parks, programs, and events. The policy also applies to all phone, email, and online interactions with Norfolk County staff and members of the public.
The policy defines the duty and process to report and the consequences for engaging in inappropriate behaviour. Staff and members of the public who witness incidents can report them directly to Norfolk County staff or contact ServiceNorfolk to report by phone or email.
The new Respect and Responsibility Policy aligns with established legislation, by-laws and policies, including the Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Trespass to Property Act, and Norfolk’s Code of Conduct for employees.
