Norfolk County is recognizing the valuable work of its Purchasing team this March as part of National Procurement Month.

An important role of Purchasing staff is to ensure the County and its residents get the best value for money through fair competition and by developing purchasing policies and procedures. The Purchasing team supports all County divisions and departments with corporate contracts, quotes, bid document development and issuance, contract execution, and looks after the procurement card program.

To ensure the County and its residents get the best value for money, and to maintain an open and honest process that is fair, impartial and transparent, the Purchasing team follows competitive bidding policies and procedures that are in alignment with trade agreement and public procurement requirements.  To secure goods and services, the County posts all bidding opportunities on the bids and tenders website, allowing vendors to review, register, download and submit bids online.

“On behalf of Norfolk County Council and staff, I want to recognize the meaningful work our Procurement team does to keep the County working smoothly and moving forward,” said Mayor Amy Martin.
