Parkland Canada, owners of Port Rowan’s Esso branded retail location, and Norfolk County are looking to the community and area business leaders to find a new owner for the community’s only gas station.

“Over the past several days, I’ve had a transparent and constructive dialogue with Parkland about their decision to close Port Rowan’s Esso retail location. Councillor Masschaele and I spoke about the unique needs of this rural community, and we are pleased that Parkland will be working with Norfolk County to try to find a new owner. We look forward to hearing from local entrepreneurs who are interested in owning the location,” says Mayor Amy Martin.

For over a year, Parkland has been looking for new owners of the Esso branded retail site at 160 Front St., Port Rowan.  To date, no buyers have emerged. Recognizing the importance of this business to the local community, Norfolk County and Parkland have teamed up to invite interest from the community and area entrepreneurs.

“We have served this community for over 12 years and are grateful for the community’s interest in the future of this location,” says Ian White, President, Parkland Canada. “Mayor Martin is a community champion and has the best interests of Port Rowan at heart as we both try to find new long-term owners for this location. We encourage inquiries from members of the community.”

This is a rare opportunity, to have a county, corporation, and community, come together to find a solution to keep a small, rural town vibrant. Members of the community who would like to run a business at this location are invited to be part of the solution.

The Esso branded retail location will close on March 31, 2023. Inquiries to purchase the business or land can be directed to [email protected].
