Nov. 26 – Do you know a local entrepreneur who deserves to be celebrated?

Nominations are now open for Norfolk County’s Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

Staff in Tourism and Economic Development want to recognize those who demonstrate leadership, have a focus on the customer and have a keen eye for innovation.

The awards will be presented at the annual Economic Development Symposium, being held Feb. 13 at the Aud in Simcoe.

“This is always one of our most anticipated days of the year,” said Clark Hoskin, Norfolk County’ Director of Tourism and Economic Development. “Seeing so many great business people come together, networking and sharing ideas is exactly why we created the symposium in the first place.”

Last year’s event saw Richard and Angela Van Laecke of Horizon Seeds take home Entrepreneur of the Year honours while Sarah Lawrence of Sayza Hot Yoga captured Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Nominations are open until Jan. 10. To submit a nomination, or to purchase a ticket to the Symposium, visit norfolkbusiness.ca/symposium. Questions can be directed to 519-426-9494 or tourism@norfolkcounty.ca.
