April 3, 2020, Simcoe, ON – Norfolk County is once again running its leaf and yard waste pick up program, beginning next week.

Residents should note that there have been some changes to the urban collection program, which begins April 6 and runs until October 2, alternating through zones 1, 2 and 3.

Residents are encouraged to click the leaf and yard waste link at norfolkcounty.ca/waste or refer to page 8 of the 2020 Waste Calendar to learn which urban zone they’re in, what items are accepted and which weeks to put out paper bags.

Last week, Norfolk County ordered temporary restrictions to the burning of leaves and yard waste in an effort to keep as many firefighters available for service during the COVID-19 pandemic as possible.

The restrictions mean residents with a burn permit will be temporarily unable to burn yard waste such as leaves, branches and grass.
