Each fall Norfolk County staff provide routine maintenance to the watermains throughout the County.

During a flush, hydrants are opened and allowed to flow in a controlled manner in one direction, helping to remove sediment that collects in the watermains.

Port Rowan, Delhi and Courtland flushing is complete and Simcoe and Waterford are ongoing until later this month.

Port Dover residents will see the program begin October 19 and run through the end of November.

Discoloured water is a normal side effect of cleaning watermains. If you notice discoloured water, simply allow your water to flow until clear.
