As these things happen, kids can get into the swing of some exciting classes at the Norfolk Arts Centre.
Artist and teacher Rachel Meneguzzi will lead youngsters ages 6-10 through an art adventure! Participants can explore different techniques while learning about some famous artists along the way.
Cut and Paste
Connect with your inner Picasso Oct. 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Learn to cut and paste the old fashion way and explore the technique of collage. This mixed media workshop that will put your creativity to the test.
A Splash of Colour
It’s time to get colourful and messy during this abstract inspired painting session Nov. 9 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Come explore techniques of famous painters like Jackson Pollock and Piet Mondrian.
Traditional Drawing Techniques
This course will give every budding artist a taste of drawing basics on December 14 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. This means experimenting with traditional drawing materials such as graphite and charcoal.
Each class is $18 with a 10 percent discount for NAC members.
Beginning Oct. 19, instructor Christine Suchy-Shantz will hone students’ drawing skills through a series of structured activities including still life, gestural and portrait studies over eight weeks. Participants will also experiment with a variety of media. At the end of the session, students will learn how to digitally document their work.
This course is indispensable for students who are planning to apply for any post-secondary arts program that requires a portfolio component. The fee is set at $85, NAC members receive a 10 percent discount.
