Norfolk County’s budget committee has reviewed and approved the 2022-2031 capital plan.

The County’s 2022 capital budget is heavily focused on asset management of core assets with notable expenditures in areas of roads, bridges, and buildings.

Based on the discussions and deliberations, the committee is recommending gross capital expenditures of $671.2M from 2022 to 2031, with $43.9M in projects planned to be initiated in 2022.

Highlights of the capital projects to be initiated in 2022 include:

  • $9.9 million for the infrastructure reconstruction program (road underground infrastructure)
  • $8.7 million toward road resurfacing programs
  • $4.9 million towards bridge rehabilitations
  • $3.1 million for the water supply strategy
  • $0.8 million investment for the Langton arena dressing rooms

The budget is not final until ratified by Council on Nov. 16.
