Project Description

Norfolk County Council has approved the construction for the replacement of the existing Road 45 Bailey Bridge located on Norfolk County Road 45, approximately 1.8km east of Norfolk County Highway 59 as per the completed Schedule B – Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.   The existing bridge will be replaced with a new prefabricated steel bridge superstructure with a clear width of 5.7m.  Associated roadwork will also be completed to the bridge approaches and will be planned and permitted by Long Point Region Conservation Authority.

Information for the Public

Currently, Norfolk County Road 45 at the existing bridge is closed to through traffic.  The road/bridge will remain closed until the completion of the bridge replacement and associated roadwork.

 

Garbage and recycling collection services will remain the same as is.  The proposed construction is not anticipated to affect the currently garbage/recycling collection operations.

 

 

 

Project Funding

This project is funded through contributions from Canada Community-Building Fund (Formerly Federal Gas Tax), as the Federal and Provincial levels of Government continue to assist Norfolk County with infrastructure requirements.
