Purpose

The Norfolk County Tourism and Economic Development Advisory Board (TEDAB ) was established in 2002 for the purposes of advising Council on all matters, issues and policies pertaining to tourism and economic development in Norfolk County. Members

Current members appointed by Norfolk County Council are Laird Boughner, Amanda Dooney, Wanda Heimbecker, Nicole Inglis, Michelle Kloepfer, Cindy Vanderstar and Chantal Zorad.

Agriculture Advisory Board (AAB)

Overview

  • Advise Council on matters pertaining to agricultural issues in Norfolk County;
  • Develop alliances and partnerships between individuals, businesses, organizations and government through financial and other means to advance the County’s strategic plan for agriculture; and,
  • Provide a forum for discussion and coordination of agricultural initiatives and programs with other community groups and agencies.

Tax Increment Program

The purpose of the Rehabilitation Tax increment Based Grant Program is to encourage the remediation, rehabilitation and adaptive re-use of downtown/brownfield properties to help offset the cost of rehabilitating only where that rehabilitation results in an increase in assessment value and property taxes increase on these properties.

POLICY STATEMENT

Norfolk County’s Community Improvement Plan establishes a framework for Norfolk County to support and implement programs that may be utilized to encourage the maintenance, rehabilitation and redevelopment of the county.
