March 8, 2019, Simcoe, Ont. – The Waterford Tricenturena is in need of some new ice-making equipment.
The arena’s condenser has been shut down after a contractor working on the unit found it is no longer in working condition, and cannot be maintained in a way that is safe for the public and staff.

The contractor has recommended the condenser be replaced.

Norfolk County staff are working on options for replacing the condenser.
Staff have also met with groups scheduled to use the rink, and are working to relocate ice time to other Norfolk County facilities.
Waterford Arena’s ice usually comes out at the end of March.
