SIMCOE, ON. March 26th, 2018. The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit (HNHU) would like to remind parents about the importance of reporting their child’s immunization to Public Health. The HNHU is working with parents of students aged seven and seventeen to reduce the numbers of students who will be suspended from school on April 26th, 2018.

“Our focus is on protecting students against diseases that can be prevented by vaccines. Our business is disease prevention not school suspension. Students and their parents have until April 26th to provide complete records to the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit,” said Sarah Titmus, program manager for the Infectious Diseases team.

Up-to-date immunizations help protect everyone from diseases that can easily spread through schools and the community. Under the Immunization of School Pupils Act (1990), children attending school in Ontario require up-to-date records.

Letters requesting missing vaccine information were mailed to parents and students in January. Those still needing to report their immunizations can do so in the following ways:

Online:  Visit www.hhn.org/immunization-reporting
Fax: (519) 426-9246
