SIMCOE, Ont. – July 24, 2018 – The Norfolk County Student Start Up Program (SSUP) helps young people in Grades 6 to 12 become entrepreneurs during the summer. On August 2nd from 11am to 4pm, several Student Start Up businesses will be showcasing their goods and services at Venture Norfolk at 4077 Hwy 3 East, Simcoe.
This year, over 40 students are trying their hand at running a small business. From lemonade stands to small engine repair, free-range eggs to welding, these students are demonstrating lots of skill and ambition.
Successful SSUP applicants are awarded $200 to get started. Throughout the summer, students are encouraged to use the support of the sponsors to enhance their business and maximize their experience. At the end of the summer, if students submit a business analysis report, they are awarded a $100-bonus for a job well done.
