Thursday, March 21 marks the 5th anniversary of the popular SoupART Bowls fundraiser at the Norfolk Arts Centre. Through the support of the Norfolk Potters’ Guild and over a dozen respected Norfolk County restaurants, bistros and businesses, patrons will once again have the opportunity to spend a leisurely evening sampling locally produced soups, beverages and other culinary delights. All proceeds from this event are directed to the Norfolk Arts Centre’s public programming to assist with the delivery of children, youth and adult programs.
For the purchase of a $25 ticket, patrons will receive a handmade bowl made by a member of the Norfolk Potters’ Guild, the chance to taste a variety of soups and breads made by local restaurateurs, and a complimentary SoupArt Bowls cookbook. Beverages produced by Norfolk County favourites like The Cider Keg will also be available.
The Norfolk Potters’ Guild is well-known for the quality and originality of its members’ hand-crafted pottery. Each year some of their finest bowls are selected for the NAC’s annual fundraiser and each ticket holder gets to choose their own ceramic bowl. Not only do patrons get to take home their selected bowl, but they can help make the event more environmentally friendly by using it that evening for their soup.
While satisfying their appetite, patrons can have fun casting their vote for “favourite soup” and “friendliest soup station,” viewing the current exhibition Off Course: Norfolk Secondary Teacher | Student Visual Art Exhibition, and mingling with friends and family. Up the ante by entering your name in a draw for a door prize courtesy of the Potters’ Guild or purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win an amazing prize from a local artist, artisan or business. Food, prizes and great company – this event really has it all!
Some of your favourite Norfolk County restaurateurs are rising to the challenge this year to offer their unique and delicious creations – so don’t wait! Save the date and buy your ticket for a dinner that will warm your belly and your heart.
Tickets are $25 per person /$22.50 for NAC members. There are two services: Service 1 is 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. and Service 2 is 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Tickets sell out quickly and are held with payment only. Patrons can purchase their tickets by visiting the Norfolk Arts Centre at 21 Lynnwood Ave, Simcoe.
