Norfolk County, ON – April 17, 2018 – Norfolk County

Following the prolonged weekend ice storm, high wind and subsequent rainfall over the past 48 hours, Norfolk County’s Roads Department was forced to close the western end of Hastings Drive in the Long Point area.

Impassable road conditions required the installation of full width barriers to restrict access until such time as the road damage can be assessed by the County.

Cottage owners have been requested to vacate their property as the roadway has been overcome by wind driven waves and high water levels.

“Everyone is requested to avoid the area until conditions improve”, stated Norfolk County OPP Detachment’s Ed Sanchuk.  “Your cooperation is greatly appreciated”.
