Simcoe, ON – Each year in April, Canada celebrates its volunteers during National Volunteer Month. This year on April 7, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Norfolk County Heritage & Culture Department will be hosting our inaugural Volunteer Drive to highlight the work of our current volunteers and to encourage new volunteers to get involved with us.
Our cultural sites depend upon and thrive because of the volunteer assistance we receive. We couldn’t do all that we do without our volunteers. Every volunteer brings a fresh perspective, new ideas, as well as valuable skills and expertise.
We have a wide range of opportunities available, everything from gardening to exhibit construction to working with our collections. We want to match your needs and interests to ours and ensure that your volunteer experience is rewarding.
The Volunteer Drive will be a fun and interactive ½ day adventure. Current and potential volunteers will board a bus at the Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum and travel around Norfolk County visiting our various museums and cultural sites. The day will include behind the scenes tours, demonstrations, volunteer testimonials, and much more. While travelling on the bus, you will hear about the fascinating history of our County. This is a free event and includes morning refreshments and lunch.
Are you looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity or interested in learning more about the work of Norfolk County Heritage & Culture? Then hop aboard our Volunteer Drive. There is no obligation to volunteer if you attend. This event is geared to ages 16 years and over.
Pre-registration is required. To sign up for this FREE event please go to www.eventbrite.com/e/volunteer-drive-tickets-42685880618 or call your community museum to let them know you will be attending.
