The Healthy Communities Partnership Haldimand and Norfolk is excited to host their annual Healthy Communities workshop. The event will be focused on how to effectively engage the local community and the renewal of the Healthy Communities Partnership.

Facilitated by the Haldimand- Norfolk Health Unit the Healthy Communities Partnership was formed in 2009 and is made up of organizations and citizens who are working towards creating healthy, vibrant, safe, strong and connected communities in Haldimand and Norfolk. “The partnership has been functioning for five years so now is the perfect time for reflecting on our assets, challenges, strengths and success as well as refocusing our vision and revitalizing our partnership,” says Shelley Rollo, Healthy Communities Coordinating Committee Chairperson.

The Healthy Communities Partnership is working to create a culture of health and well-being by reducing duplication and maximizing resources through coordinated action. This means creating policies and programs that make it easier for residents of Haldimand and Norfolk to live healthier lives.

“This workshop is aimed at anyone working in the community and looking for ways to make it better, “says Heather Keam, a health promoter at the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit.  At this workshop, participants will learn how to effectively work with their community and how to achieve their goals. “It is also a great opportunity to learn what else is happening in our communities and to meet others who are trying to do the same kind of work,” says Keam.  Participants will also celebrate the efforts of the Healthy Communities Partnership and be invited to be part of the local healthy communities movement.

The workshop is open to all organizations and residents who are working with their communities to create a healthy, vibrant, safe, strong and connected community in Haldimand and Norfolk.
