LONG POINT, ON – MAY 25, 2018  – Norfolk County’s Environmental Services Department continues to suspend the collection of recycling material from Long Point as a result of the Long Point Causeway Bridge load restriction.

Garbage Collection will however continue to be provided by Norfolk County at the usual curbside collection points on the regular Monday collection day.

Residents are requested to retain their recyclable materials until further notice.  Once an interim solution to the Long Point Causeway Bridge load restriction is resolved, regular recycling collection will resume.

Residents are able to take recycling material to either the South Walsingham Transfer Station or the Simcoe Material Recovery Facility free of charge.

South Walsingham Transfer Station
1180 3rd Concession, Port Rowan
Monday to Friday 10:00 am – 3:45 pm
Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Material Recovery Facility (MRF)
28 Grigg Drive, Simcoe
Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Garbage Collection will be taking place using Norfolk County vehicles.  The vehicles being used comply with the load restrictions.  As such, you may experience a change in your collection time.   Please remember to have your garbage placed curbside by 7:00 am.  It is anticipated that garbage collection will be completed by 5:00 pm.

The County apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and we sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
