SIMCOE, ON – January 27, 2014 – On Thursday, February 6, the Norfolk County Public Library will be hosting a Black History Month celebration featuring author and historian Natasha Henry, who will speak at 1 p.m. at the Simcoe Branch. Presentation Focus: John Graves Simcoe, Chloe Cooley and 1793 Anti-Slavery Act. Additionally, Norfolk County Public Library will feature documentary films at 3 branches:
Feb. 6 – Simcoe (Seeking Salvation @ 3 p.m.)
Feb. 13 – Port Dover (Black Hands @ 3 p.m.)
Feb. 20 – Port Rowan (Seeking Salvation @ 3 p.m.)
The Simcoe Branch will also feature the artwork of Nicole Alexander, a self-taught artist who paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolour reflect a unique Afro-Caribbean vibe.
