Title of course: Drawing, Painting and Papermaking Dates: Monday to Friday, August 9-13, 2010 Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Location: 21 Lynnwood Drive, Simcoe, ON Registration fee: $130 for a full week, with a 10% discount for NAC members
The Norfolk Arts Centre is providing an additional week of art for youth in two simultaneous sessions: 8-12, 13-18, featuring fine art drawing, painting and papermaking. Norfolk County artists Eve Yantha and Cristina Zanella will lead the classes and lend their expertise to a range of projects and activities.
The workshop is an introduction to basic drawing and painting techniques from the live (clothed) model. Students will produce multiple drawings and a finished work using acrylic on canvas. Papermaking and book-binding will be incorporated with the process.
Eve Yantha Eve graduated with an honours B.A. in Visual Arts from McMaster University in 2003. Currently she holds memberships in the Norfolk Potters Guild, and Norfolk Artsco. As a teacher candidate of Brock University, she organized a High School art exhibition exploring environmental art at the Norfolk Arts Centre. Eve has taught children's March Break and Summer Adventure programs at the Norfolk Arts Centre.
Cristina Zanella Cristina attended Lambton College, and then the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, where she perfected her abstract expressionist style. Cristina enjoys creating still life works, and wants art to be playful and fun. She looks forward to sharing her craft and playful attitude with the children this summer.
