MEDIA RELEASE Norfolk Arts Centre presents Summer Arts Adventure Program, 2010The heat’s on, but the ‘cool’ thing to do this summer is to dive into art! The Norfolk Arts Centre provides the creative environment of beautiful Lynnwood and its galleries for children to learn and experience painting, sculpture, music and animation. Local artist/teachers will instruct new skills while volunteers encourage imagination and collaboration with other kids.Programs run from July 5th to August 20st. Children can sign up for half or full days for one week, or all six weeks. Our theme programs include ‘Super’ Video Animation, Ukrainian Traditional Crafts, the World of Puppetry, Mystery of the ‘Third Planet’, Fantastic Wildlife, Silk Screening, Music Makers, Classic Cartooning, Drawing Painting and Papermaking, and Modern Cartooning. The cost is $130.00/wk for full days and $65.00/wk for half days. There is a 10% discount for NAC members or for two or more children from the same family. This year we have a special course, Music for Baby and You, which allows parents/guardians to participate with their children aged 0-36 months. This course is offered flexibly in the afternoon.
