Current Projects
Agri-Food Innovation Centre
As recommended in the Tobacco Community Action Plan, the Agri-Food Innovation Centre proposal aims to “enhance the capacity of local industry to capture new and expanded markets for horticultural products”. The Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association (Erie Innovations and Commercialization) is working with the University of Guelph and other stakeholders, including Norfolk County, on the “Erie Agri-Food Innovation Initiative”. Norfolk County Council and Oxford County Council have pledged financial support for the initiative, as have numerous other partners, including the Agricultural Adaptation Council.
Broadband for Norfolk
The Norfolk County Corporate Strategic Plan includes “increase access to technology” as one of the objectives under the Community Infrastructure section. In particular, one of the action steps is to “explore enhancements to high speed internet access across Norfolk County”. Norfolk County received funding for this initiative and the project is nearing completion. Go to http://www.broadbandfornorfolk.com for more information.
